The following paper gives a short description of the software-tooleComparatio that was originally intended as a tool for the comparison of differ-ent text editions. An example of its original purposes will be given, the largerpart of the paper consists of a detailed description of the actual comparisonprocess in detail. In a final section, some differences to similar text comparisontools for plain text will be given.
